Livingston-area galleries satisfy all tastes

The Livingston area’s fine art galleries have earned the city the reputation of “The Heart of Art in Montana.”

Livingston, a small Western city with a laid-back atmosphere, is home to a diverse array of artists and is considered by many a source of exceptional art.

The town and surrounding area boast many fine galleries and have earned recognition as a regional art center.

Several local galleries have joined together to form the Livingston Gallery Association, which organizes the popular summer Art Walks enjoyed by the entire community and visitors alike.

During the events, each gallery introduces new exhibits by holding a public reception for the artists.

The Friday night Art Walks take on a block party appearance and often last well into the evening.

Livingston Gallery Association Art Walks are traditionally scheduled for the fourth Fridays of the summer months — June 25, July 23, Aug. 27 and Sept. 24, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.

There will also be a Holiday Art Walk during the Christmas Stroll in December. Most of the galleries are downtown within walking distance of each other.
